Oscar, the amputee cat

Oscar, the first cat in the world with prosthetic paws, is adjusting to his new bionic feet in Surrey, England. The poor feline was sunning himself when he got run over by a combine harvester, amputating his lower hindlegs. By drilling holes into what remained of the limbs, veterinary surgeon Noel Fitzpatrick was able to attach custom-made implants to "peg" the ankle to the foot. Skin will eventually grow over the implants' umbrella-like ends.
