Sometimes you can't wait to be done with it. You exhale when your day ends, or it's lunch time, and you've made it through. The poison slips from your body into a puddle at your feet. You know it's only there temporarily and it will infect your veins one more time. But you also know it will leave eventually. That you'll get your own blood back soon.
How sad it is to have to wait. To actually wish days, hours, and even minutes of your life were gone. You won't get those days back and you don't know how many you will get in your future. Sadly, you've wasted time with the poison.
Well, kid. You've come this far. You made it. No use crying over spilled time. Just pick yourself up and keep walking to the finish line....smiling like you mean it (because you do)!!

I think most of us are a different person when we are at work, no matter how much we like work. In any kind of institutionalized environment, I suspect.
