Sinead in Sydney

Darling Sinead was spotted by the paparazzi in Sydney's airport last week.

No explantion why she was hand-carrying a picture of herself.

And don't know who the guy is. Might be the father of her kids?

Ryanair is coming to the US!

My inner free spirit is ready to book one of these new cheap fares!

According to the New York Times, on March 30, the “open-skies” agreement goes into effect, allowing airlines based in the United States and Europe to fly across the Atlantic between any two airports in each region.

Previously, for example, British Airways flights bound for the United States had to originate in Britain. And only two United States carriers were permitted to land at Heathrow Airport, near London: American and United.

But here’s my favorite part! Ryanair is coming to the United States!

“Ryanair, the Irish no-frills carrier, has said they plan to start a new airline that will fly from secondary European markets like Liverpool or Birmingham to a half-dozen American cities like Baltimore or Providence, R.I., for a base fare as low as 10 euros, or about $16 at $1.59 to the euro.”

Holy cow! The possibilities are endless. Sacramento to Munich DIRECT?

Long Live "The Donger"

Say it with me, "Oh, no more yanky my wanky, the Donger needs food."

Just read an interesting NPR story about Asians in cinema and dear Long Duk Dong chimes in. Go here to read it. Can't believe he's 52 now!

I remember meeting Gedde years ago in LA. It was at a cabaret bar and he was pretty drunk. It was some sort of open mic night and he got up and sang a song. I use the term “sang” and “song” liberally. I’m sure it wasn’t his proudest moment, but he was a nice guy and said he had fond memories being The Donger.

Long live The Donger!

Battlestar Galactica Top Ten List from Letterman

This is a bit geeky, and the laughs are groaners... but as I like this show, I found it pretty cool that the ENTIRE cast did Letterman for this Top Ten list. And they're in costume! Worth a look...

Skating Kilts

I don’t get this. I had to do a triple take as I thought this pic were both girls! I guess this dude skates in a kilt. While I’m sure it seemed like a nationalistic idea to begin with, it just seems a bit… wrong.

CAPTION: The answer to who wears the pants in the British ice dancing team of Sinead and John Kerr is neither. (World Figure Skating Championships in Goteborg, Sweden.)

Party Chicken & Heineken

Uufff...it's good be back at the Mind Cake...

Been in the Hometown over the Easter weekend visiting Mom/Dad and the kin. Had a terrific time seeing everyone [shitty I had to work in the local office on Friday! - means to an end, right?]
Mom greeted us w/ this wholesome meal on our arrival - Party Chicken (chicken breast with Campbell's cream of mushroom soup & sour cream - kind of anemic looking but tastey), brussels sprouts (with brown butter, of course), mashed potatoes (heaven on a plate), and side salad (wish Mom would try something other than iceburg which is NOT really lettuce in my book)... oh and HEINEKEN!

Comfort food rocks!
