Favorite Movies in 2010

Yep, I'm behind the curve here. It's March and I'm posting about my faves from last year. I've been preoccupied. But looking at my Netflix history, I came up with a list. I won't call this a "Best Of" because it's not films released that year, but films I watched. For example, "Annie Hall" is in my Top 10 of the year.

Regardless, here's my Top 5, in no particular order.

"A Single Man" - Tom Ford's first outing as a director? Lovely. Colin Firth - actor of his generation.

"The Ghost Writer" - A twisting Polanski thriller. Brosnan an underrated actor and much more than Bond. McGregor always tasty!

"The Kids Are Alright" - Yep, Annette Bening is that good. Juianne Moore is no slouch either. And Mark Ruffalo shirtless is a bonus!

"An Education" - Wonderfully sad. Carey Mulligan is a dream. Mr. Sarsgaard is great, walking a fine line of wonder and sleaze.

"Up in the Air" - Clooney: I'm in the minority here and not a huge fan. But in this movie, he's delicate, introspective, and wonderful. Me likey!

I Say A Little Prayer

Sure I like "Glee" and wouldn't miss an episode, but making a video? Um, I'll let these 3 cubs handle that:

Oh and if that weren't enough, according to this description, the "dancers" in this version are 1 uncle and 2 nephews. OMG! That's an awkward Thanksgiving!

R.E.M. - "ÜBerlin"

I'm playing the disc to death ("Collapse Into Now"). Can't get enough. Literally. It's injected into my cerebral cortex at this very moment. I like this kid in the video. Great hair. Funny moves. Clever, emotional, fluid.

The Decemberists - "16 Military Wives"

Silly video, cool song, great band.

Did I post this before? Shit.

After Beerfest Irish Fry

They (de Vere's) were out of the black pudding (feck it all!) so I got an extra egg. Yum.

Beerfest at Home with Friends

Best of the bunch. Full of flavor yet smooth. Ahhhloha!

Went down easy. Would be great on a hot day. Something surprising from Rochester, New York.

After smoking a bowl, I guess this would taste great. But since I don't, it didn't.

A nice balance from the boys in Paso Robles. Both styles pictured were welcoming.

Obligatory Irish brand. Tasted too metallic. Stick with stout, Mr. Guinness.
