King James: The Coat Hanger

I had to "borrow" this pic from the AP. The bible often feels this painful.

Caption: A sculpture made from coat hangers depicts the Crucifixion outside St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland. Artist David Mach created the piece as part of a project to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible in 2011.

Patti LuPone: A Memoir

I've been a big fan of La LuPone since way back in her "Evita" days. While I haven't seen her on stage in any of her key roles (would have loved to have seen her as Norma Desmond), I have seen her in concert twice and own all of her albums (solo or cast records). She's funny, gifted, and a generous performer. Not to mention one of my favorite belters ever!

I'm looking forward to reading this memior. Here's a trailer, if you will, for the book. Patti looks fantastic!

The Proclaimers - 500 Miles (Live 8)

Yea the radio played this fucking song over and over until it lay bleeding under it's own stupid weight. But upon reflection, IT KICKS ASS!

Don't take my word for it. Check out this performance at Live 8.

THIS IS A SCOTTISH BOUNCING SESSION!

Gastown, Vancouver - Canada

I got a new postcard in the mail this week. Cool! And what a surprise from my most high-tech friend to send such a low-tech item. The US Post Office thanks you too.

Big Ass Mallows

Twice the size of regular marshmallows. And they take longer to cook on a stick. They're tricky to cook them through before they actually fall off the stick!

I just watched others and didn't cook them. I ate one cold. Tasty, but I could only eat a little. Left an icky film on my lips.

But what's camping without a little food overkill?

Gettin' Bassy

Sportin' the sentimental hat my dad used to wear. Catch that flag! And makin' sure that I'm as tacky as can be with this T-shirt.

Well, except for the beer brand. We're not exactly bourgeoisie.

Plague at Fallen Leaf Lake

The truth about those cute beasts!Yea, that's right. He's cute, but I kinda wish this fire pit was lit to take care of the problem. You know what I'm sayin, sayin.

And don't get me wrong. The flying buggers were equally difficult. Gads, where's the Off Spray when you need it!

Fallen Leaf Lake

Camped here. Well, not at the marina where I took these snaps, but near the lake. Painfully beautiful!
Shh, don't tell anyone about this place. I don't want to spoil it.
