Stranger Into Starman

I turned Stranger into Starman
in the Sunday New York Times
Like Anne Sexton with her star rats
working backwards till it rhymes

For the love of God you can't tell me again
For the love of God you can't tell me again

With a pencil and eraser I've rewritten all your crimes
I turned Stranger into Starman
in the Sunday New York Times

Melting Midweek

Came home from work and the air-conditioning wasn't working.
Hot. Bitch. Moan.
Just a blown switch, then back on.
Took forever to cool the house again.
Melting man.

Bitch. Moan. Ugh.
Leftover red velvet cake.
Then a cookie.
No ice cream.
I would have melted since I'm made of sugar.

Mini Chocolate Bundt Cake

I brought my lunch to work, but slogged through the heat with some friends so they could pick up lunch. Once there I couldn't resist this 4-inch beauty!

Yes, I shared. :)

Ice Cream

Air-conditioning running since we got home.
Stupid.
Need to be naked.
In a pool.
With an umbrella drink.
And fireworks.

Will settle for feet up.
No undergarments.
Chocolate chip ice cream.
Orange pop.
And longing stares out my home office window (silly birds, excellet birds).

Audra (some new snaps)

They might actually be old, but they're new pictures to me. Especially love this one in blue!

King Ludwig II of Bavaria: 125th Anniversary

STARNBERG, GERMANY - JUNE 13, 2011

People wearing traditional Bavarian costumes attend a religious mass to be held in honour of the 125th anniversary of the death of Bavarian King Ludwig II in front of the Votiv chapel at the shore of Starnberger See lake on June 13, 2011 in Berg, Germany.

Hundreds of people participated in the event to commemorate Ludwig, who was also known as Fairytale King Ludwig for his eccentricities that included the construction of elaborate palaces and castles, most notably Schloss Neuschwanstein.

Ludwig drowned in Starnberger See in 1886.

The state of Bavaria is marking the anniversary of his death with a series of events throughout the year.

Tony Awards 2011

Neil Patrick Harris as host.

Opening number was clever, entertaining, and dare I say it -- funny.

Highlight of the evening for me. Seeing Robert Morse & Matthew Broderick on stage together.

As a geek analogy, it's like seeing Picard and Kirk on the same bridge!

John Leguizamo's one-man shows are legendary.

His hilarious monologue on the broadcast didn't disappoint.

Hugh Jackman & NPH? Together? O.M.G.

...sides still hurting from laughing...

Legend. Period. Full Stop.

Angela Landsbury still going strong and looking great!

Bono & The Edge.

Yep, I love the boys but they were out of place here. Their saving grace was they understood the Spiderman jokes and took 'em on the chin.

Sutton Foster in "Anything Goes".

In another time and era, this woman would be a house-hold name. A true theatre gift.

Theatre Royalty: Vanessa Redgrave & James Earl Jones.

While they presented this award, I closed my eyes and reveled at just the sound of their voices.
