Tim's Chips
It's Friday night for me and a PERFECT time to discuss Tim's Chips. I discovered the tasty treats a few years back while at Costco. Their wasabi flavored chips caught my eye while shopping for a camping trip. They turned out to be the hit of the trip and a kick ass chip!
I keep a look out these days for new flavors. Today I found a whole new series of Mexican inspired flavors. While I was partial to the dill pickle flavor (a specialty they no longer make) and the habanero flavor, these caught me off guard. That's right loved ones... Mole flavored chips. How fucking rad is that?
While I'm not a huge fan of tamarind, "what's his name" is. So I bought 'em. What I didn't buy were a few other flavors I can't remember at the moment. But hunt these down...taste 'em...devour 'em...let those Washington state chip folks know you love them by buying those chips!

Obama in Berlin

Case in point:
"New York Times" - July 24, 2008
"Germany can be, well, pretty American sometimes. And often overlooked is just how German the United States really is.
"As the American ambassador noted when opening the new embassy to Germany on the Fourth of July, in the 2000 census the number of Americans reporting German ancestry was nearly 43 million, the highest tally of any group. That’s more than Irish or English or Italian, some five times the number claiming French roots and roughly the same number as African-American and Mexican combined.
"The Census Bureau said that every state in the Midwest reports Germany as the largest share of ancestry, with 44 percent in North Dakota and 43 percent in Wisconsin."

"Caprica" Trailer
Laurie Anderson

She's coming to the area where I live for her show "Homeland" and my interest has piqued...until I read the review of her show in New York. According to the "New York Times" (July 24, 2008), they say this:
"She affected wry detachment in one moment and astral wonderment in the next. At times her coolness cloaked tremors of panic. As a narrator she was not only unreliable but also mercurial, and often splintered as if through a prism.....The subject of 'Homeland' is manifold, and at 90 minutes it’s a bit too much of a ramble. Ms. Anderson sounds more curmudgeonly than clever..." (Read entire article here)
She also had Lou Reed appear with her on stage, adding to the cool factor. But I dunno. I may just have to enjoy her from a distance. I'll always remember her as the weird chick from "Language is a Virus". Then again, with the benefit of the web, you can enjoy it too.

"Long Way Down"
I was totally enamoured with "Long Way Round", reading the book and seeing the TV specials. It's nice to hear that they've done another journey called "Long Way Down", this time from Scotland to South Africa. They're doing a one-night only special screening in the theaters, but likely this will be on TV too. I can't wait. Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman are truly nuts!

Dior
I can't help but think of "Absolutely Fabulous" when I look at high fashion. Even these shots of Dior's fall collection have me thinking of Patsy and Edwina!
